Barnes & Thornburg Captures New Corporate Partner in Atlanta

Barnes & Thornburg Captures New Corporate Partner in Atlanta

Barnes & Thornburg LLP welcomed a new partner to their Corporate Department. Corporate lawyer Richard Kaye will join the firm in their Atlanta office where his work will focus on domestic and international transactions. Kaye joins from Sherman & Howard LLC where he was a member.

Kaye will advise clients in commercial and corporate law matters such as multinational corporations, emerging growth companies, and governmental entities. He will represent these clients through domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, franchising construction, real estate, joint venture and partnering agreements, foreign investment, commercial contracts, commercial and trade transactions, and more.

Managing partner Stuart Johnson of the Atlanta office said, “Rich as a strong transactional practice in the U.S. and we can parlay his international experience when working with European and Asian clients with respect to their operations here. He will nicely complement our corporate and M&A capabilities in this market and across the country.”

Kaye is an active member of the Advisory Board of Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Georgia Economic Developers Association. He is the former chair of the American Bar Association’s International Commercial Transactions, Franchising and Distribution Committee. He received his J.D. from Emory University School of Law and his B.A. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He also spent time studying at the University of Paris IV, Sorbonne. He is admitted to practice in Georgia, including the Georgia Supreme Court, Court of Appeals of Georgia, U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Barnes & Thornburg has made a number of additions recently including Robert Lockwood who joined the Intellectual Property Department in Atlanta a few months ago.
