BCG Attorney Search Reviews

[My favorite thing about working with BCG] was that it was very little work for me to do which is what I was looking for. My legal placement professional knew who was hiring and I knew very little about the market before talking to her, she made it all super easy and honestly it was a lot faster than I expected. I think I talked to her and then within a week I had an interview for the next week and then I had an offer the next day so I appreciated that she was just very efficient. BCG and my legal placement professional covered everything. I told her what I was looking for, the type of practice and which market I was looking at and she did everything else. I was stressed about how I was going to do it and she completely took it off my plate. BCG is number 1.

It's hard to narrow down my favorite thing about BCG Attorney search, but I think that from the beginning to the end, Harrison and everyone I worked with at BCG was extremely responsive in identifying opportunities and coaching and just all the way around, client service. This made my job search easier because it got me access to a lot of quality opportunities quickly. My queue with jobs that were suited to my level of experience and practice areas of interest and geographic areas, if I had to search for all of these opportunities myself on job websites, it would have been a full time job in itself. BCG is #1!

I loved attention that I received from BCG. I really felt valuable and that they were working really hard for me trying to find me a position and I really appreciated that. I think this made my job search easier because it brought the law firms to me. Made it easier to search for them, matched me with different firms that, with some algorithm or something, matched me up, but that made it much easier than me Googling firms or go about it in that way. I haven't worked with any other recruiting firms, but I would definitely give BCG a 10 out of 10 on my scale!

She was on it and didn't pester too much but stayed in contact. She didn't just communicate via email, she also sent texts so that gives a little more of a personal touch. It makes it seems like things are moving and they actually care and that you aren't just one out of a million applicants. I know that is a hard thing to balance for recruiters. They are either not on it or they are pestering you all of the time, one of the two. She found the right balance of that.

You have a nice online portal where you can pick the firms that you want to apply to and reject the ones that you already applied to or plan on doing yourself. I thought that was a nice feature. I have worked with a bunch of other companies and nobody else has anything like that. It is usually just email communications and a lot of times they won't even tell you who the firm is so you are just wasting your time talking to people when they won't let you know. It is kind of a waste of time to go back and forth if you have already applied there or you don't want to work there so.

Q. Where would we rank amongst other recruiting company's you have used?

A. I would put you at the top! I also thought a lot of the emails that you sent out to everybody were pretty helpful with tips and pitfalls to avoid, the interview process and making partner and all those sorts of things. I think those emails are really helpful to read.

My favorite thing about working with BCG was the service in general, just getting me connected with the firm that I ended up accepting an offer from. I don't know what the difference would have been if I had applied directly, but I think going with BCG in a geographic location where I don't have connections was helpful in that it gave me a leg up over those who were applying directly because it was a new location that I don't have a lot of connections in. I would say I haven't worked with very many recruiters in the past, but I have worked with individual recruiters and I would say that BCG was generally better about communication specifically via email about updating on where things are, and I think others hit or miss on how communicative they are and how they actually work with you and that piece of it was definitely helpful for me!

I received the champagne you sent to my office--thank you very much for the thoughtful gift. Receiving your gift also made me realize that I never took time to thank you for your work in finding a new position for me. I selfishly forgot to acknowledge your hard work during the hectic transition between jobs and all of my wedding planning. For that I apologize, and please know that I am very grateful for your work. BB&K has been great so far, so I am definitely a satisfied "customer." Looking forward to staying in touch.

How quickly the process worked for me. Carleen and I started talking in October and I had interviews and got a job offer by late November, early December. It [using a recruiter] helped a lot! I was originally told not to use a recruiter because sometimes firms won't pay for the fee, but that was the wrong advice because I did a lot of job searching on my own and applying on my own and that led to absolutely nothing! The second that I started working with a recruiter I had immediate interest and interviews so obviously that network was really important. Especially for me coming out of state and not being licensed in CO yet, that made all the difference to me! Carleen is great! We didn't have a ton of communication because it wasn't necessary but anytime I needed her she was quick and just really lovely.Q. Where would we rank amongst other recruiting company's you may have used?A. In April, when I first started looking into moving to Colorado I started looking at recruiters and spoke to one. I told her exactly what I wanted out of a firm and was very descriptive and she immediately sent me back 4 or 5 firms and when I looked at them online I realized she was not listening to me. It's clear that she just wanted a big commission because these firms pay a lot more but they were just not what I am looking for and I got really frustrated. When I spoke with Carleen I felt like she really listed to exactly what I was looking for and knew the kind of firm I wanted. Also, it was really sweet - when I did get a job she reached out and was really nice about it and said she could tell I was really despairing and I am so glad we could help. I feel like she regarded me more as a person.

I just received your very thoughtful bottle of champagne and wanted to reach out to you both to say thank you, both for the gift and for all of our help in the recruiting process. I remember that Harrison Barnes called me pretty soon after I reached out to him, or pretty soon after we agreed to work together and talked to me over the phone. That was good. [You have] all the resources and connections that are required to put you into the circle of firms that I would expect to be shopped to. That was definitely a positive thing.

I think the number of firms I was able to get my resume in front of was my favorite thing about BCG Attorney Search. This opened up a lot of firms to consider my application. They did a lot of the work for me so that I could continue focus on my current job instead of spending all of my time dealing with recruiting. In terms of outcome, for me personally, BCG is number 1!
