Fox Rothschild Welcomes Cannabis and Financial Services Litigator Nikolas Komyati in Morristown
Fox Rothschild is pleased to welcome Nikolas S. Komyati to its Morristown, NJ office as a partner in the Litigation Department.

Komyati is a seasoned securities attorney and commercial litigator who serves as a trusted legal adviser to cannabis and hemp industry businesses.
A dedicated problem solver with broad legal experience, Komyati counsels cannabis sector businesses and ancillary service providers on licensing, financial and compliance issues. He also assists them in clearing the complex regulatory hurdles that can impede mergers, acquisitions and capital raises. He is particularly well versed in the legal framework that governs New Jersey and New York's growing cannabis industry.
In his financial services practice, Komyati represents investment banks, broker-dealers, investors, hedge funds and insurers, handling regulatory inquiries and responses on a multitude of issues. He’s also successfully prosecuted breach of investment agreements as well as shareholder claims and defended FINRA arbitrations, achieving dismissal of all claims.*
Komyati serves many clients as outside general counsel, providing legal advice on a range of corporate issues ranging from formation and structuring, private equity transactions, hedge fund transactions and redemptions to complex securities transactions and sales of restricted securities.
Komyati has a background in commercial litigation and has represented closely held businesses, transportation and trucking companies, creditors and contractors in state and federal court.
Komyati earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Delaware.
Prior to joining Fox, Komyati was a principal at Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. where he was a member of the executive committee and the cannabis practice area leader.
