Patrick Derksen Joins Spencer Fane, Growing Financial Services, Bankruptcy Practices in Phoenix
Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Patrick Derksen has joined the Banking and Financial Services practice group as an of counsel attorney in the firm’s Phoenix office.
Derksen works with clients across a wide range of financial matters, including everything from structured transactions to bankruptcies, allowing businesses to maintain successful operations, pursue their strategic growth opportunities and, when necessary, defend their interests.
While not exclusively, Derksen’s practice regularly involves facilitating sophisticated transactions as well as financing and lending agreements beneficial to all stakeholders in an efficient and timely manner. He has notable experience working with the full spectrum of financial services institutions along with developers, contractors, subcontractors, and business owners.
In addition, Derksen brings a proven track record of representing trustees and creditors in a broad array of bankruptcy matters, including sales, avoidance actions, turnover of assets, stay relief litigation, dischargeability litigation, claim and priority disputes. He also he has substantial experience representing court-appointed receivers and navigating complex issues related to creditors’ rights in the context of probate and trust administration.
Specific to the real estate industry, Derksen advises developers, contractors, subcontractors, and owners in negotiating and drafting development, construction, and related agreements. He also works with buyers and sellers in the purchase, sale, and financing of real property and has significant experience in real estate workouts and restructurings – both in and out of bankruptcy.
