Dennis Burke, ex-DOJ lawyer admits that he was behind ‘Fast and Furious'-related leaked memo

Dennis Burke, who worked for the Department of Justice in Arizona, claimed responsibility for his role in leaking a memo that was used to smear ATF agent John Dodson. Dodson is the agent who blew the whistle on Operation Fast and Furious. Burke left the DOJ in August after increased congressional scrutiny over the botched operation by the ATF. Burke's lawyer has said that Burke regrets his role in disclosing the memo but he is also willing to take responsibility for it. The operation resulted in ATF agents letting suspected straw buyers get away with around 2,000 guns from Phoenix-area gun shops, most of which are suspected to have ended up with Mexican drug cartels. The ATF has lost track of around 1,400 guns.
