Six Hundred Jobs Cut from UK LSC
The LSC (Legal Services Commission) in the UK has announced the elimination of 600 jobs over the next three years. The LSC runs the legal aid scheme – a nonprofit group dedicated to providing information, advice, and legal representation across society.

Plans to reduce the numbers of employees from 1,700 to 1,100 will be implemented starting mid-2009. The losses come about through plans to reduce the number of LSC processing sites from 13 to 5 in order to improve legal aid services to clients in England and Wales.
