After a 2L summer associateship, this candidate ultimately received an offer to join a U.S. News & World Report nationally-ranked firm and Vault regionally-ranked firm in St. Louis, MO. She had a wonderful experience with this firm, where she had practiced for almost 10 years as a valued associate. With her team, she had established herself as a successful litigator able to manage all aspects of litigation in diverse and complex areas such as business litigation, products liability, electronic discovery, real estate/construction litigation, and environmental litigation. She was able to show a host of impressive accomplishments that included representation of clients in state and federal courts, leading large scale e-Discovery productions, performing depositions, motion practice, court appearances, medication and trial, and serving as second chair in multiple jury trials. She was on the partnership track and was a proven hard worker (often billing 130%+ of her required annual hourly target).

This candidate came to BCG in connection with a job posting back in her original hometown in outstate Illinois. Despite loving and being committed to her firm in St. Louis for many years, she and her husband - who was also originally from the same location - had discussed eventually moving home. Her husband's aging parents still lived in the area, and they desired to be closer to them. Despite being in a smaller market, this candidate wanted to find a firm that was of a high caliber for the area, and knew there were only a handful of practices meeting her criteria in the city. Luckily one of them was the opportunity BCG had presented, and so we were able to reach out with a very tailored presentation of our candidate. The firm found this candidate highly compelling. She boasted a track record of many years of success and commitment with a nationally-known firm as a successful litigation associate. Even moreso, however, she had a convincing and meaningful rationale for searching for a new opportunity back in her hometown, and had evidenced a continuing connection to the area throughout her professional career (including during grad school and law school). The firm felt very confident they could count on this candidate wanting to work and live in the area for the long term.

This firm was incredibly appreciate to BCG for bringing it and our candidate together. After many conversations and meetings, it was excited to extend her an offer. She was able to negotiate a competitive salary for the region, and was very happy to have landed one of the few opportunities in the area in which she would have had interest. She and her husband were so happy to be able to move back to be closer to friends and family, and BCG was honored to make it happen!
