Perkins Coie Gains New Corporate Practice Partner

Perkins Coie added a new partner to their Emerging Companies & Venture Capital practice (ECVC) in Palo Alto. Troy Foster is joining from TrueCar, Inc. where he was the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. He also spent 14 years at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in their corporate practice.

Co-Chair of the ECVC practice Buddy Arnheim said, “The attorneys at Perkins Coie’s national ECVC practice provide sophisticated counsel to a growing and robust roster of promising startup companies. Foster will focus his work assisting corporate and entrepreneurial clients such as emerging growth companies, public companies, venture capital firms, and investment banks. His counsel to clients in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate law and governance, and venture capital issues will provide valuable knowledge. He has hands-on experience with securities class action and high-stakes corporate litigation.

Foster earned his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law where he was also the Senior Editor of the Columbia Law Review. He earned his B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles. He served as a law clerk to Honorable Alex Kozinski of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is also an adjunct lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
