Advice on $7.2 Billion Samson Acquisition Deal
Private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co has plans to acquire Samson Investment Company, one of the largest private oil and gas exploration and production companies in the U.S. for $7.2 billion. Simpson Thacher & Bartlett is advising the investor group, while Latham & Watkins are advising NGP. David Polk & Wardwell is representing Crestview Partners. Samson is being represented by Jones Day in the transaction. The deal is likely to get completed by the end of the year, depending on regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.
