Morgan & Finnegan opens Connecticut office
Intellectual property firm Morgan & Finnegan has opened an office in Stamford, CT, with one partner and one associate. The New York-based firm expects the new office to grow to six lawyers by the end of the year through both internal and external hiring. The Connecticut Law Tribune

Brown Rudnick goes international with addition of Grant McRea
Boston-based Brown Rudnick has formed an international litigation and arbitration practice with the addition of Grant McRea from Dewey Ballantine in its New York office. The practice group will specialize in litigation involving derivative financial products. New York Law Journal

Watson joins Hughes & Luce
Kirk P. Watson, the mayor of Austin, TX, from 1997 to 2001, is joining Hughes & Luce from Austin litigation boutique Watson Bishop London Brophy. The addition gives the 133-lawyer Dallas-based firm 21 lawyers in Austin. Texas Lawyer

Townsend and Townsend and Crew offers $2,000 scholarships to law students
In an effort to increase the number of women and minorities who pursue careers in patent law, Townsend and Townsend and Crew is offering $2,000 scholarships to law students. The firm will award six scholarships to women and minority law students who are interested in a career in patent law. The Recorder

Hogan & Hartson opens office in Hong Kong
Hogan & Hartson is opening an office in Hong Kong with the addition of Mao Tong from the local office of Squire Sanders & Dempsey. The new office is the third that Hogan has opened in China since 2002, giving it 12 lawyers in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Legal Times
