So I worked with my legal placement professional, and she was great. I had a friend who was looking for a firm at the same time as me and I feel like his recruiter was a little pushy with him and we both had specific goals, and wanted to transition in to a field of law that we are not in right now. I feel like my legal placement professional really listened to me in that respect and didn't try to push me toward any firm regardless of whether or not they had an active practice in the area of law that I would like to start practicing in. While my colleague who was working with a different recruiting firm had a very different experience where he felt like he was being pushed toward every and any firm and his recruiter wasn't really listening to what he wanted. I spoke with My legal placement professional and told her what my goals were and provided her with my resume and transcripts, and she kind of just took it from there. My legal placement professional was just great, from the intake and talking with me about opportunities and tidying up my resume to my experience and the negotiations, it was really great dealing with her! You essentially took care of everything. Helping with the pre-process of ensuring I was showing all of my qualifications and skills in the best possible way. During the offer of employment and those negotiations and conversations she worked directly with the firm for me so it was very good. Also, working with candidate to have them present themselves the best possible way they can. I didn't necessarily get that feeling from the other 2 or 3 recruiting firms that I spoke to.

[Working with BCG] was very easy. I worked with my legal placement professional because I had responded to some listings online and she got right in touch with me. She did a lot of the work and just kept me in the loop. It was very helpful. I felt confident that she was looking at listings that I probably didn't have access to...when I accepted an offer it did make me confident that I was accepting a good offer. I felt confident that I wasn't leaving anything on the table that I would have found otherwise. That gave me some confidence too. I would say [BCG is] helpful. I guess the second word I would think of is quick because it really wasn't long after I got in touch with my legal placement professional that I ended up with an interview and then an offer. So that was great. As far as a third one, I guess efficient. I never actually met my legal placement professional in person, we talked on the phone [and] we emailed. But I really didn't have to put a whole lot of time into the relationship. I had a positive experience working with you all, I ended up with a result that I'm very pleased with and I didn't really have to do a lot to maintain that relationship. My legal placement professional really drove that process. Bottom line: I would say to somebody there really is nothing to lose contacting you all. If I was going to do any one thing differently, to me I would have been a little better off if I had known to stay in touch with my legal placement professional a little bit more. Once I was contacted to do a phone interview...after the phone interview I came down to San Diego for an in person interview. It was really only after I had received an offer that I then got back in touch with my legal placement professional. I think I might have been a little better off if I had stayed in touch with her more. Like [telling her] I have a phone interview coming up [and] we should confer...I think I would have been a little better off if I had more information going into those. I just didn't understand that it would have been important to keep in touch. Just because it was going so efficiently and it was run well, kind of remotely, so I thought it was just kind of on autopilot. That is the one [piece of] advice I would give to other people in my position.

The BCG app is pretty convenient. I didn't use it a ton because I wasn't involved in the process for too long. You can go on and approve the jobs and the listings and the way it is set up is really nice. My legal placement professional was really great! Especially early on, she didn't contact me too much but reached out when there were good opportunities. The job I ended up taking wasn't one that was posted. It was an opportunistic job so I thought it was great that she went ahead and contacted places she had connections with anyway. She worked at a quick speed and I was under a time crunch with another opportunity and she really moved things along for me very quickly.It was helpful to have my legal placement professional there to ask questions about the firm. She had a lot of insider information that I probably wouldn't have gotten a lot of with my own research. In a traditional setting I would have tried to connect with someone at the firm or someone who used to work there but because of the time pressure everything happened within a week and she was able to give me a lot of details about individuals and the firm that was beneficial to me when I was interviewing. Q. Where would we rank amongst other recruiting company's?A. My legal placement professional is the only recruiter that I have worked with that passed my information along without there being a job posting which I liked because, obviously, it ended up working out for me. It is a more aggressive, not in a negative sense, approach and especially given the circumstances in the economy and with the pandemic you need somebody like that right now. You need someone that will advocate strongly for you!Overall it was a very positive experience and I have recommended it to other people since. On the whole, I was very pleasantly surprised with the process and very happy with it. Nothing negative to report at all!
