Quinn Emanuel Sends Rebuttal to Government Charges of Conflict of Interest

Quinn Emanuel has hit back with a strongly worded letter against the government after the federal government claimed to the Virginia court that Quinn Emanuel could not represent Megaupload because of a conflict of interest.

The firm has hit back with a letter in which it states that if the government had its way, it would cherry pick everything related to the case, thus ensuring its victory and any firm defending such a case would obviously have prior experience in handling copyright cases.

Megaupload is the file sharing site that has been seized and shut down by the FBI in January. The government’s objection to Quinn Emanuel representing the company is that the law firm has previously represented YouTube when it was sued by Viacom for pirating its content. The law firm has also been involved in other piracy cases.
