A law firm in New York City is seeking an ERISA Title I Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate must possess specific and meaningful expertise in Title I of ERISA, including fiduciary responsibility rules, prohibited transaction restrictions, and “plan asset” rules such as the 25% test and VCOC/REOC rules. The role involves representing fund sponsors, investment managers, investors, and other industry participants in all aspects of ERISA's application to investment products and activities. Outstanding academic credentials and prior law firm experience are essential.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support to clients on matters related to ERISA Title I.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis pertaining to ERISA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to ERISA matters.
  • Advise clients on fiduciary responsibilities and obligations under ERISA.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of ERISA compliance strategies.
  • Represent clients in ERISA-related litigation and administrative proceedings.
  • Stay abreast of developments in ERISA law and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission by waiver.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience practicing law, with a focus on ERISA Title I.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ERISA fiduciary responsibility rules, prohibited transaction restrictions, and plan asset rules.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards.
