A law firm is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Level Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Associate Attorney to join their team in New York City, NY. The successful candidate will work in tandem with a collaborative and experienced team whose practice covers nearly all types of employee benefit plans and programs, health and welfare benefit plans, and executive compensation arrangements. They should have experience in mergers and acquisitions related benefits work, qualified plans, executive compensation, and health and welfare. Strong academic credentials and the ability to concisely and effectively communicate complex matters in oral and written form are essential.

Job Overview:

  • Work as part of a collaborative and experienced team handling various employee benefit plans, health and welfare benefit plans, and executive compensation arrangements.
  • Provide expertise in mergers and acquisitions related benefits work, qualified plans, executive compensation, and health and welfare matters.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with the team to advise clients on various employee benefit plans and programs.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to executive compensation and employee benefits.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including plan documents, agreements, and disclosures.
  • Provide guidance and support on compliance matters related to employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Assist in negotiations and transactions involving executive compensation and benefits.
  • Stay updated on legal developments and regulatory changes affecting employee benefits and executive compensation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in New York.
  • Mid-to-senior level experience in executive compensation and employee benefits law.
  • Strong understanding of mergers and acquisitions related benefits work, qualified plans, and health and welfare benefits.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.

Certifications:

  • Membership in good standing with the New York State Bar Association or equivalent.
