BCG Attorney search is a pleasure to work with.

I chose the person; it was my recruiter at BCG in particular because of the attention I knew that she was going to give. She gave daily hand holding attention, which is critical. That just made a big difference. And I chose her over someone, who I was told is the biggest name in the field. [I did this] because I knew I wanted someone who was going to be a cheerleader [as] opposed to somebody who just had some big name. [BCG] walked [me] through each step of the process. I was coming from a different career [and] different market and didn't really know how I should present myself or anything. I knew I had strengths but I didn't know how to package them for this kind of thing. I knew how to package them for a client, but not for a new place [of] employment. [I would describe BCG as] scrappy, hungry, [and] supportive. I would rank you highly. You need someone who is really going to walk each step of the way with you. You already have your own cache so you don't need some place to give you cache. You need someone who is going to explain the process [and] go through the ups and downs with you. That's what you [have] going.

I liked that you had updates as to application views, whether you were under consideration and stuff like that. I liked the fact that you were very transparent with who was looking at the applications, what firms [were] considering [you, and] whether they passed on you or not. I think having that made it a lot easier. Also, the fact that you could just click what firms you wanted to be applied to and which ones you didn't [was helpful]. I liked everything [about working with BCG]. You guys did everything [to make my job search easier]. [Working with BCG] made [my job search] seem significantly easier and you guys also had really good ins to a lot of firms. The firm I ended up with, that position was not [listed] online. I don't know how you guys made the connection, but I know you made it. So definitely that was a big part for sure. [I would describe BCG as] responsive, transparent, and helpful. [BCG is] way better [than other recruiting firms]. I had one that actually just randomly dropped me because she realized I was a federal law clerk. You guys were definitely more personal and professional. I would strongly recommend you guys, for sure. And make sure Carleen gets really good reviews because she's fantastic.

Thanks to BCG, I made a smooth and quick transition from my prior firm to my current firm. My recruiter was attentive to my preferences; her recommendations were realistic and on target; and she did everything except attend the interviews. I've heard that a job search can be extraordinarily stressful, but this one wasn't. I'm ecstatic in this new position and owe it largely to BCG!

My recruiter took care of every facet of my job search from beginning to end- the only thing she didn't do was go on the actual interview. She addressed all of my questions and concerns promptly and negotiated every detail for me. She took all of the stress out of the search process for me.

My legal placement professional reached out to me on a cold email and I looked her up and we had similar backgrounds so I called her and she made the process really simple. She had me send her my resume, transcript and a writing sample and she sent me a list of firms in a couple days. She made it really easy and it was pretty chill, uncomplicated and easy to understand. Very straight forward. On the BCG front, I appreciated having a bajillion articles on a bunch of different topics that I tend to think about. The liked the app and having all of these resources and articles was very helpful. What I appreciate the most about she is her tenacity and it isn't overbearing. I am sure there are recruiters that are tenacious with a hammer but she is tenacious with a scalpel.A bit of my story with BCG and being hired at Mayer Brown - at first the recruiting manager said they would pass on me and gave a reason, my GPA. My legal placement professional explained to me that they normally don't give a reason and the fact that he did give a reason opened a door for her to chime in and give her perspective to counter their point. Because of that they passed my resume onto the rest of the firm and then I was able to seal the deal through the interview process. She's willingness to do that is really great. I think it is super easy for people to just move on because they already said no. What was great about my legal placement professional is that Mayer Brown was a huge reach for me to get and I feel really lucky; and she knew that and that the chances were low but despite that she doubled down and told the firm why they should consider me. It think it is a testament to her character. Most people would be like "I knew he wasn't going to get it anyway so if I doubled down it won't help the situation since the chances are low so I am just going to move on and use my time more strategically". The fact that she did that changed the course of my career and it meant a lot! She was super friendly, always available no matter the time or day via text or email or call. If I wanted a call she was available right away, no question about it. What I appreciate about my legal placement professional is that she was super supportive and very encouraging. I don't think she just saw me as a job or a box she needed to check. She was interested in who I was as a person and the encouragement she offered me was very tailored. Some people offer general encouragement because that is what you are supposed to do and that can come across as insincere but she provided me with encouragement that wasn't overblow and was very specific to who I was. When she had doubts, she told me she had doubts but at the end of the day she reminded me that I was a good candidate and there can be a win for me. She reminded me that I have a lot to offer. This process is extremely stressful and her being so encouraging made this process a lot easier, so I am really grateful for that.

I thought your online system and being able to see everything was very helpful. A lot of other people don't have that. You certainly had the most opportunities and had them the quickest. There were things you would send to me that another recruiter would send to me two weeks later. [BCG Attorney Search is] efficient, proactive, and organized. [You are] certainly in the top tier. You would be my go to recommend for anyone. If you need the company that has the most breadth and is going to send you the most options then I would go with you.

When I contacted BCG I said that I wasn't even sure if I wanted to stay in the law. The recruiter I spoke with was very understanding. There was no coercion but she said this is what I have on the table at the moment, these are the firms and this is what they are like. She pointed out that it didn't have to be as it was at my previous firm. My recruiter was very familiar with the Chicago market, she knew lots of information about the firms she suggested to me. The pace was pretty fast, all in all, about 3 weeks from discussion to offer. Ultimately, I took an offer and, at the 6 month point, it's exactly as it was described.

I think it was my Washington DC recruiter's persistence. I was in a spot where the market was bad when I first reached out to my recruiter. And I think over time we were able to focus on my strengths to get me to where I am.
