Associate needed for New York City office

Job Overview:
A prominent national law firm is seeking a highly qualified Associate Attorney to join its Corporate Department, with a focus on employment and labor matters. This position is based in New York, but candidates may also work from any of the firm's U.S. offices. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of experience in employment law from a top-tier law firm and be well-versed in counseling corporate clients on compliance, transactional matters, and employment documentation.

Location:

• New York City, NY

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to clients on employment law compliance, including:

  • Worker classification

  • Wage and hour laws

  • Immigration and employment eligibility issues

  • Union relations and collective bargaining

  • Equal opportunity and anti-discrimination statutes

  • Employment policies, procedures, and handbooks

• Draft and review:

  • Employment agreements

  • Separation agreements

  • Restrictive covenants (non-compete, non-solicit, confidentiality)

• Advise on reductions-in-force and compliance with the WARN Act

• Conduct employment-related due diligence in corporate transactions

• Draft and negotiate employment-related reps and covenants in transactional documents

Requirements:

• 5–7 years of employment law experience at a nationally recognized law firm

• Strong foundation in both advisory and transactional employment matters

• Experience supporting corporate transactions with employment-related components

• Proven ability to manage a busy workload and provide practical legal solutions

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in good standing or eligibility to waive into the jurisdiction of the firm office where the candidate will be based (including New York)
