Wilmer makes two big hires this week
Cutler Pickering Hale has hired Boyd Johnson III, deputy U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, for its New York office and Thomas Strickland, a former chief of staff to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, will join Wilmer's Washington, D.C. office. Wilmer worked closely with Strickland during the settlement made between UnitedHealth and the SEC in December 2008. Strickland resigned from the UnitedHealth post in January 2009 and joined the Obama administration as chief of staff to the former attorney general for Colorado. Johnson has handled prosecutions of the federal government's investigation into a prostitution ring. He also served as international narcotics unit's head in the Southern District.
