Job Overview

A global law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Counsel with 3–4 years of experience to join its Los Angeles office. This is a Counsel-level position focused on handling employment litigation, wage and hour matters (including class actions and PAGA claims), and employment counseling for a high-profile client base. This opportunity is ideal for a driven attorney seeking long-term professional growth with a pathway toward Senior Counsel and potential future Partnership consideration.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and dispositive motions

  • Handle court appearances and arbitrations for wage and hour, PAGA, and employment disputes

  • Draft and respond to discovery requests and meet-and-confer letters

  • Advise clients on California employment laws and compliance

  • Respond to government agency investigations and inquiries

  • Draft and review employment agreements, severance packages, handbooks, and internal policies

Requirements

  • 3–4 years of experience in employment and labor law

  • Significant background in California employment litigation and counseling

  • Strong understanding of wage & hour law, PAGA, class actions, and arbitration

  • Excellent communication, legal analysis, and client advisory skills

  • Demonstrated ability to handle litigation matters from initial stages through resolution

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the California Bar (or eligibility to waive in)

Skills

  • Outstanding written and oral advocacy skills

  • Strong litigation strategy and motion practice capabilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-performance environment

  • Business-oriented, proactive, and collaborative team player

  • Strong client relationship and communication skills
