A law firm in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to primarily handle employer-side litigation, with additional responsibilities in advice and investigations. The litigation focus is primarily on class and representative actions involving wage and hour and discrimination matters, thus experience in the class actions space would be beneficial.

 

Duties:

  • Represent employers in labor and employment litigation, with a focus on class and representative actions.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Assist in investigations and provide legal advice on labor and employment matters.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop litigation strategies and case management plans.
  • Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Stay updated on developments in labor and employment law and provide proactive legal counsel to clients.
  • Manage caseload and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and client expectations.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in Washington, D.C.
  • 4-8 years of experience in labor and employment law, preferably with a focus on employer-side litigation.
  • Experience in class and representative actions is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in Washington, D.C.
