Labor and Employment Associate Attorney

A law firm in Albany is seeking a skilled Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join their team. As a Labor and Employment Associate Attorney, the candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of duties, including employment-related litigation/arbitration, transactional employment work, and labor relations. The role requires experience in advising and counseling, wage and hours audits, legal research, and the preparation of employment-related documents. Experience with education and higher education clients is a plus. The ideal candidate should have superior academic credentials, excellent writing skills, and be admitted to practice in New York.

Duties:

• Handle employment-related litigation and arbitration before courts, administrative agencies, and neutrals.
• Engage in transactional employment work, including advice and counseling, wage and hours audits, and legal research.
• Analyze complex employment law issues and provide guidance.
• Prepare employment-related documents such as agreements, policies, and procedures.
• Manage labor relations, bargaining, and grievances.
• Collaborate with education and higher education clients as needed.

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of experience in labor and employment law.
• Admitted to practice in New York.
• Superior academic credentials.
• Experience in both litigation/arbitration and transactional employment work.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
