Job Overview: A law firm specializing in workers' compensation cases seeks a knowledgeable and experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join their team in Asheville, NC. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of worker compensation experience, with preference given to those with additional expertise in employment law matters.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in workers' compensation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis about workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and appeals.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and administrative agencies.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and other proceedings related to workers' compensation claims.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their rights and obligations under workers' compensation laws.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing workers' compensation law.
  • Strong understanding of North Carolina workers' compensation statutes and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience handling employment law matters in addition to workers' compensation cases.
