A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Criminal Attorney to handle a variety of criminal cases, including client consultations, court appearances, and case management. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, self-motivated, and possess strong communication skills to effectively represent clients in criminal proceedings.

 

Job Duties:

  • Conduct extensive client consultations via telephone, video, in-office meetings, and jail visits.
  • Represent clients in various criminal proceedings, including arraignments, hearings, trials, and appeals.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients facing criminal charges.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and arguments.
  • Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and agreements.
  • Negotiate with prosecutors to reach plea agreements or settlements.
  • Prepare for and participate in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
  • Manage case files and documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with legal team members and support staff to effectively handle cases.
  • Stay updated on changes in criminal law and procedure.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Georgia.
  • 2+ years of experience working in criminal law.
  • Strong knowledge of criminal law and procedure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and tasks simultaneously.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and winning personality.
