Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Senior Trial Attorney with extensive experience in New York Labor Law litigation to join its Construction practice group in New York. This role is suited for a seasoned litigator capable of first-chair trial responsibilities and handling complex matters from inception through verdict. The position involves significant trial advocacy and case management across construction-related litigation, including general liability, premises liability, and municipal liability. Duties

• Serve as lead trial counsel in New York Labor Law and related litigation matters

• Manage litigation caseload from inception through trial and post-trial motions

• Draft and argue pleadings, motions, and trial briefs

• Conduct depositions, manage discovery, and engage expert witnesses

• Provide strategic litigation planning, risk assessment, and client communication

• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations

• Supervise junior attorneys and collaborate with litigation teams

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience, including trial experience

• Substantial background in New York Labor Law litigation (first-chair trial experience required)

• Experience with general liability, premises liability, and municipal liability matters

• Strong ability to manage complex case files and meet procedural deadlines

• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of New York (in good standing)
