Senior Litigation Counsel

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a senior litigation counsel in New York to manage complex general liability matters, including New York Labor Law, premises liability, and catastrophic injury cases. The role involves interaction with clients and insurers on domestic and international claims.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of 25-30 matters
• Take and defend depositions
• Attend court hearings and mediations
• Draft and submit pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients
• Conduct complex legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis
• Draft discovery requests and responses
• Review and analyze documents for production
• Investigate claims and prepare case strategies
• Report to insurance carrier clients and insureds
• Manage and supervise associates and paralegals

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in New York
• J.D. 2016 or earlier
• Litigation experience
• Experience taking depositions
• Excellent academic credentials

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Certifications

• Admitted to New York Bar
