A law firm seeks a dedicated and motivated Employment Law Associate Attorney to join its Philadelphia office. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing practice. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of employment law matters, including representing both employees and employers. You will gain exposure to multiple aspects of the legal process, from client consultations and drafting complaints to attending conferences and assisting in pre-trial discovery and trials. The role also offers flexibility, with remote work options available for all associates.

Duties

  • Meet with clients to understand their legal issues and provide tailored advice regarding employment law matters.
  • Draft legal documents such as complaints, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Attend Fact-Finding Conferences and Mediation Conferences to represent clients and negotiate outcomes.
  • Assist in pre-trial discovery, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and drafting discovery responses.
  • Support the litigation team in preparing for trials and hearings.
  • Provide legal research and analysis to ensure clients are receiving the best possible legal strategies and solutions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of both state and federal employment laws to advise clients effectively.

Requirements

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar is required.
  • Some prior knowledge of employment law is preferred, though not required.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues.
  • A proactive and team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and grow in the practice of employment law.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.

Skills

  • Knowledge of employment law, including labor rights, workplace discrimination, and wage disputes.
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills for case preparation and legal opinions.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle a variety of cases and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to engage clients professionally and with empathy while delivering effective legal solutions.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents and correspondence.
