Job Overview:

A well-established litigation firm in Columbia, SC, is seeking a seasoned Trial Attorney with extensive experience in personal injury and premises liability matters. This role involves leading litigation efforts on a high-volume docket, conducting jury trials, and overseeing case strategy from intake to verdict. The attorney will work alongside a supportive legal team with access to innovative tools and robust administrative backing.

Duties:

• Manage a high-volume caseload (~150 matters), including ~50 active litigation files monthly

• Oversee case progression from client intake through settlement or trial verdict

• Maintain proactive communication with clients, ensuring clarity and support throughout the case lifecycle

• Conduct depositions, draft and respond to legal motions, lead mediations, and build comprehensive litigation strategies

• Serve as first-chair in jury trials, providing vigorous representation and courtroom advocacy

• Collaborate closely with paralegals and case managers to maintain efficiency and client satisfaction

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of personal injury or civil litigation experience; 5-8 years preferred

• Demonstrated trial experience with at least 5 first-chair jury verdicts required; 10+ strongly preferred

• In-depth knowledge of the South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence

• Must be actively licensed and in good standing with the South Carolina State Bar

• Multi-jurisdictional bar admissions considered an asset

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Commitment to client service and case ownership

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in South Carolina (mandatory)

• Admission to additional State Bars (preferred)
