Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm in Columbus, South Carolina, is seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney with a strong background in personal injury cases. This opportunity is presented through a legal recruiting partner on behalf of the firm. The ideal candidate will bring extensive courtroom experience, exhibit empathy in client interactions, and possess strong trial preparation and execution capabilities. The role offers the chance to manage significant caseloads independently while contributing to a collaborative team-oriented environment.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation matters involving personal injury claims

  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents

  • Engage in all stages of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and trial

  • Evaluate cases to determine liability and value for settlement or trial

  • Prepare and argue motions and attend hearings

  • Communicate with clients regarding case updates, legal strategy, and resolution

  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance companies

  • Provide first-chair representation at trial when necessary

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on litigation experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading trial proceedings (1st chair preferred)

  • Active membership in the South Carolina Bar and good standing

  • Proficiency in legal writing and oral argument

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and caseloads efficiently

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus

  • Strong case evaluation and negotiation skills

  • Client-centered approach with excellent interpersonal abilities

  • Comfortable working independently within an office-based setting

  • Team-focused mindset with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina

  • Additional certifications or Bar admissions are a plus.
