Job Overview:
A prominent South Carolina-based law firm is seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Attorney with a focus on personal injury law. This role involves representing clients through all phases of litigation, from case strategy to trial. Location:

  • Columbia, SC

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients regarding personal injury claims

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations

  • Handle settlement discussions with insurance companies and opposing counsel

  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, and discovery requests

  • Investigate claims, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and consult experts

  • Take and defend depositions and appear for motion hearings and trials

  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and legal guidance

  • Maintain compliance with legal ethics and firm standards

  • Collaborate with legal team on case strategy and outcomes

  • Participate in daily team huddles and monthly firm-wide meetings

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by case needs

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of litigation experience in personal injury (plaintiff or defense)

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently

  • Strong client communication and litigation strategy skills

  • Availability for full-time hours, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing with the South Carolina Bar

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Experience with Salesforce or similar case management systems preferred

  • Exceptional organizational and case management abilities
