The ideal candidate will hold a Juris Doctorate (JD) and an LLM in Taxation, be licensed to practice in the State Bar, and possess a significant background in tax litigation. The position requires tax court experience and a strong academic record, including analytical skills. Preferred qualifications include expertise in civil and criminal tax controversy, whistleblower claims, and voluntary offshore disclosures.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in tax controversy matters before administrative agencies and courts.
  • Manage and handle complex civil and criminal tax cases.
  • Provide legal advice to clients on intricate tax issues.
  • Conduct extensive legal research and analysis.
  • Prepare and draft high-level legal documents, including petitions, motions, and briefs.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop effective case strategies.
  • Attend and lead tax court hearings and proceedings.
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Maintain meticulous and accurate case records.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) and LLM in Taxation are required.
  • Licensed to practice in the State Bar.
  • 8-10 years of experience in tax litigation.
  • Mandatory tax court experience.
  • Strong academic record and exceptional analytical skills.
