A law firm in New York City seeks a dynamic and experienced Employment Litigation Attorney to join its team. This role involves managing a variety of employment-related legal matters, including litigation, counseling, transactional support, and dispute resolution. Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in employment-related disputes, including court appearances, mediations, and arbitration.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and present findings in a clear, actionable manner.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, demand letters, mediation statements, and settlement agreements.
  • Manage the discovery process, including preparing document requests, responses, and third-party discovery; utilize e-discovery platforms effectively.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop case strategies, conduct reviews, and analyze legal risks.
  • Guide employment-related compliance and draft/update legal handbooks, contracts, and policies.
  • Engage in active case planning and participate in trials, including witness preparation, motion practice, and oral advocacy as needed.
  • Stay informed on employment law trends and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Contribute to client development efforts, including marketing the firm and participating in training programs.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and support colleagues as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with a strong academic record.
  • Licensed to practice law in New York; admission in New Jersey and/or Connecticut is a bonus.
  • Demonstrated experience with federal, state, and local employment laws and agency procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage cases independently, including drafting documents, engaging in discovery, and presenting in court or other dispute resolution forums.
  • Familiarity with legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw), e-discovery tools, and billing software.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail and precision.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities effectively and manage time efficiently.
