Job Title: Employment Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking an Employment Associate Attorney to handle a diverse range of complex civil litigation matters, focusing on employment litigation. The ideal candidate will provide legal representation to clients, advise on employment laws, and participate in industry organizations to enhance the firm's visibility.

Duties:

  • Handle a wide array of complex civil litigation matters, including employment litigation.
  • Provide legal representation to clients, assessing facts and issues of each scenario and counseling clients appropriately.
  • Advise clients on federal and state employment laws, wage and hour issues, harassment, disability, discrimination, wrongful termination claims, and workplace restraining orders.
  • Research and draft motions, employment agreements, employee occupancy agreements, termination agreements, employee contracts, employee handbooks, and workplace policies.
  • Provide litigation defense or prosecution of civil claims.
  • Respond to client concerns to increase and retain business.
  • Participate in industry organizations and affiliated committees to increase the firm’s visibility in the community and within the industry.
  • Represent the firm internally and externally.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the legal and management goals of the department.

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree.
  • Active California Bar license.
  • 3+ years of attorney experience, with some employment law experience.
  • Ability to communicate regularly with clients on a range of practice group topics.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate independently against inflexible deadlines in a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and reprioritize caseload.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
  • Experience in Employment Law and/or Employment Litigation is preferred.
  • Experience with ProLaw or other billing and document management programs is a plus.
