Job Overview

A small litigation boutique in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its Federal Employment Litigation Team. This role provides the opportunity for hands-on litigation experience, direct client interaction, and the chance to manage full-cycle litigation in an administrative law setting. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in federal employment law, with experience before administrative bodies like the EEOC, MSPB, OSC, and OPM. The position offers mentorship from senior attorneys, competitive compensation, and robust benefits.

Duties

  • Litigation Management:
    • Handle full-cycle litigation for cases in front of the EEOC, MSPB, OFO, OSC, and OPM.
    • Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery.
    • Take and defend depositions.
    • Conduct hearings in person, telephonically, or via video conferencing.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Maintain direct and consistent communication with clients.
    • Provide counsel and advice on federal employment matters.
  • Settlement Negotiations:
    • Negotiate settlement agreements effectively and efficiently.
  • Administrative Requirements:
    • Meet billing expectations of 1,560 hours per year.
    • Collaborate with senior attorneys and contribute to the team’s success.

Requirements

  • Active bar license in any U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Strong experience in federal employment claims, administrative litigation, or federal court litigation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines with exceptional time-management skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and independently when required.
  • Competency in problem-solving and adaptability to complex legal issues.
