A law firm in Washington, D.C. is seeking a motivated and qualified Entry-level to Mid-level Tax Associate Attorney to join its dynamic tax department. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in transactional matters, collaborating closely with securities and finance lawyers, as well as engaging with investment bankers, financial advisors, and government officials on a nationwide scale.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to transactional tax matters.
  • Provide support in structuring and negotiating transactions with a tax perspective.
  • Collaborate with securities and finance lawyers to ensure comprehensive legal advice.
  • Engage in client interactions and communicate complex tax concepts effectively.
  • Draft and review legal documents, agreements, and tax-related correspondence.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations impacting client matters.
  • Assist in the resolution of tax-related disputes and issues.

 

Requirements:

  • 0-5 years of relevant experience in transactional tax matters.
  • Familiarity with public finance or other transactional tax experience is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • LL.M. in Taxation from a recognized institution.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar.
