A law firm located in the vibrant legal hub of London, UK, is actively seeking a Senior Legal Counsel who will report to the Associate General Counsel for EMEA. The role encompasses providing legal counsel and support to the firm's EMEA offices and offers the exciting opportunity to collaborate with the Associate General Counsel, covering Asia Pacific, US, and LATAM, on additional international projects. The ideal candidate should be a qualified lawyer with 4-8 years of PQE, specializing in commercial law, contract negotiation, and drafting. Moreover, the role requires expertise in project management, as well as the ability to develop and deliver training. The firm is open to candidates already in an in-house role or those with a strong aspiration to transition in-house. In addition, experience in operating within an international legal environment and supporting global clients with cross-border legal issues is highly desirable. Familiarity with corporate, commercial contract, and money laundering laws is crucial, with a preference for candidates who have practiced at a large or mid-sized law firm, ideally one with a significant global practice. The role entails addressing both strategic issues and tactical operational details.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support to the firm's EMEA offices.
  • Collaborate on international projects alongside the Associate General Counsel, covering Asia Pacific, the US, and LATAM.
  • Manage contracts, including negotiation and drafting.
  • Lead and contribute to legal projects.
  • Develop and deliver training to internal stakeholders.
  • Address legal matters pertaining to corporate, commercial contracts, and money laundering laws.
  • Assist in resolving cross-border legal issues and supporting global clients.
  • Handle both strategic and operational legal concerns.

Requirements:

  • A qualified lawyer with 4-8 years of PQE.
  • Strong background in commercial law.
  • Proficiency in contract negotiation and drafting.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Experience providing legal training.
  • Desire to work in an in-house role or prior in-house experience.
  • Familiarity with international legal environments.
