Job Overview

A law firm seeks a labor and employment attorney to join its team in Washington, DC. This non-partnership track position offers benefits eligibility and a billable hour goal of 1400-1800 hours. The role involves extensive litigation and counseling responsibilities, with opportunities for telecommuting from a home office in Washington, DC; Virginia; or Maryland.

Duties

  • Manage and run cases independently.
  • Communicate and negotiate with opposing counsel.
  • Argue motions in court effectively.
  • Advise clients directly on legal matters.
  • Manage deadlines and case dockets efficiently.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of employment litigation and counseling experience.
  • Extensive litigation experience required.
  • Experience with traditional labor and labor management relations is a plus.
  • Licensure in the jurisdiction of the home office is required.
  • DC bar membership preferred, required within one year of employment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in good standing.
