Energy Project Finance Dealmaker Joins McDermott in New York
International law firm McDermott Will & Emery welcomes Jeeseon Ahn as a partner in its Transactions Practice Group in New York. Jeeseon brings strong lender-side project finance experience to the Firm as energy and project finance deal volume continues to grow in the wake of the Inflation Reduction Act and in conjunction with an increase in energy transition initiatives globally. Jeeseon joins from Milbank.
“We see a growing trend in private credit clients seeking investment opportunities across renewable energy, energy transition, renewable natural gas and carbon capture projects,” said Edward Zaelke, global co-head of the Firm’s Energy & Project Finance Practice Group. “Jeeseon’s experience advising institutional lenders with innovative structures will add incredible talent to a high-demand area for our clients.”
Jeeseon represents both financial institutions and sponsors in domestic and cross-border projects and structured financings, investments and other transactions. She counsels clients in the United States and abroad on high-value projects and matters in the energy and infrastructure sectors, including renewable and conventional power, oil and gas, mining and digital infrastructure. Fluent in Korean, she will further expand relationships with clients doing business with counterparts in Korea, a key market for inbound and outbound energy transactions.
Jeeseon also has significant experience representing export credit agencies and multilateral development banks on cross-border infrastructure projects in Latin America and Asia.
