Rachel Hass Reinus Joins Haynes Boone’s Investment Management Practice

Haynes and Boone, LLP has bolstered its Investment Management Practice by hiring Partner Rachel Hass Reinus, who has significant experience in-house and in private practice representing private fund sponsors and investors in the formation of, operation of and investment into private investment funds. She is based in Haynes Boone’s Orange County office.

Rachel joins the firm from the Hedge Fund Solutions division of UBS Asset Management, where she was an executive director of investment structuring, charged primarily with structuring, evaluating and negotiating alternative investments — including co-investments and activist and SPAC-related opportunities.

Prior to that, Rachel served as a vice president at PAAMCO Prisma, where she handled new private fund launches, including a multi-strategy, multi-manager fund. She also advised PAAMCO on the ongoing operation of and investments made via its multi-manager segregated account platform.

“Rachel has an in-depth understanding of the operational challenges that fund managers face on a day-day-day basis, which will allow her to provide our clients with practical, focused guidance on how to manage risks and achieve their investment objectives,” said Haynes Boone Managing Partner Taylor Wilson.

A native of Southern California, Rachel received her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California. She earned her law degree from Southern Methodist University and subsequently joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, where she was a member of the firm’s Investment Funds Practice. She says she has long admired Haynes Boone’s leading reputation in the investment funds sector.

“The firm’s longstanding commitment to build and grow a top-tier Investment Management Practice was too enticing to pass up,” Rachel says. “I look forward to helping Haynes Boone continue to expand its funds practice in Orange County and beyond.”

Haynes Boone’s Investment Management Practice Group provides assistance with the formation and on-going operation of investment funds engaging in a broad spectrum of investment activities from general investment in listed stocks to targeted acquisitions in a variety of industries, including in technology, energy, and real property, businesses, or investments. The firm represents both domestic and offshore primary investment vehicles and funds of funds and serves as lead outside counsel to numerous investment funds that combined have tens of billions of dollars in assets under management.
