SNELL & WILMER EXPANDS PRESENCE IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST WITH ADDITION OF BANKRUPTCY AND REORGANIZATION PARTNER JOSH RATAEZYK IN SEATTLE
Rataezyk focuses his practice on bankruptcy, restructuring and reorganization. He has extensive experience defending clients in bankruptcy avoidance actions and has also represented numerous receivers and creditors in receivership actions throughout Washington State.

As a former assistant general counsel at GE Capital Franchise Finance Corp., Rataezyk was primarily responsible for overseeing all bankruptcy, litigation, and restructurings for the company’s servicing and collection departments. Additionally, he was a partner at Seattle firm, Davis Wright Tremaine and, immediately prior to joining the firm, Rataezyk was a partner at Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson, P.S.
Rataezyk is licensed to practice in Washington and received his J.D. from Gonzaga University in 2002 and B.A. from Yale University.
Snell & Wilmer has been dedicated to expanding its legal services in the Pacific Northwest since opening offices in Washington and Oregon in 2020. The firm’s Portland office has added four new lawyers this year and recently moved to a new location downtown.
Rataezyk is joining a team in the region that advises clients on a wide range of legal issues, including appellate law, bankruptcy and restructuring, commercial and public finance, commercial litigation, constitutional litigation, corporate and securities, estate and wealth planning, First Amendment and defamation guidance and litigation, real estate, and state and local taxes.
