Corporate Attorney Joel Hughey Joins Nelson Mullins in Atlanta
Corporate attorney Joel Hughey has joined the Atlanta office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP as a partner, the law firm announced today. He joins from Eversheds Sutherland.
Hughey practices with the Corporate Practice Group Team and focuses primarily on middle market corporate transactions in the U.S. and internationally, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, capital raises, and joint ventures. He provides strategic counseling to a broad range of clients including public and private companies, private equity funds, venture capital funds, family offices, and executive management teams.
“Joel has a breadth of corporate experience in a number of industries and has a background in extraordinary corporate transactions,” said Brian Galison, head of the Mergers and Acquisitions Team. “With more than 25 years combined experience as outside and in-house counsel and as a corporate development executive, he is a welcome addition to our team and for our clients.”
He earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law and his B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar.
