Michael Best Adds to Washington D.C. Team
Summary: Michael Best has strengthened their corporate and transactional practice in Washington D.C.
Michael Best added a new member to their Corporate & Transactional Practice Group in Washington D.C. Cheryl I. Aaron is joining the firm as a senior counsel. She will also be joining Michael Best’s Derivatives practice.
Chair Bret Roge of the firm’s Corporate & Transactional Practice Group said, “We are very pleased to welcome such a talented attorney to our team. Cheryl’s comprehensive derivatives experience will serve as a terrific complement to our regional, national, and international corporate and financial capabilities.”
The leader of Michael Best’s Derivatives Practice Group Alexander Fraser added, “Cheryl will be a great asset to our group. Cheryl’s deep regulatory and transactional experience across many derivative product types will expand service capabilities for our growing roster of clients.”
Aaron will advise financial institutions, energy companies, and commodity trading firms through a range of derivatives and banking issues such as Dodd Frank Act compliance, Commodity Futures Trading Commission guidance, Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Reserve, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Her expertise is in cross-border trading, margin, capital, federal deposit insurance, and regulatory reporting.
She earned her J.D. from Boston College Law School, an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center in Securities and Financial Regulation, and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of several groups including the Anti-Defamation League’s Washington D.C. Executive Committee and Regional Board, the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, and the D.C. Bar Association Foundation Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council.
