Ogletree Deakins Welcomes Shareholder to Atlanta

One of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. has added a new member to their Atlanta team. Erika Leonard will be a shareholder in Atlanta.
Leonard will be joining from Paul Hastings where she was in the Employment Law Department handling wage and hour class actions and collective actions, appellate work, and single-plaintiff litigation. She has does this successfully in over a dozen wage and hour class and collective actions, some of which included federal and state discrimination, breach of contract, wrongful termination, off-the-clock, and independent contractor misclassification cases.

The cases Leonard has worked involve regularly dealing with single-plaintiff employment discrimination, appellate litigation, wrongful termination, and traditional labor matters. She also counsels clients on compliance issues with federal and state wage and hour and equal employment opportunity laws, severance issues, and reductions in force. Leonard also prepares employee handbooks, drafts employment agreements, and conducts discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour investigations and hearings.
With a B.A. from Dartmouth College, Leonard then went on to receive her J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law. She has frequently contributed to different law publications, serving as as associate editor for the Employment Discrimination Law (Fifth Edition) and first supplement. She was the coordinating editor for the third supplement and has helped with chapters in the Employment Law Deskbook for Human Resources Professionals, Reductions in Force in Employment Law, and California Business Law Deskbook.
