Fujifilm Gets Shearman & Sterling as Counsel for Its Bid on SonoSite

Fujifilm has announced that it will pay $995 million in cash to acquire SonoSite and also take on the firm's debt. SonoSite makes portable ultrasound devices. After the buyout, SonoSite will operate as a subsidiary of Fujifilm. Fujifilm is using the services of Shearman & Sterling for this deal. Sherman has also advised Fujifilm over several other deals. In 2008, the law firm worked with Fujifilm when the latter acquired Toyama Chemical in collaboration with Taisho Pharmaceutical.
