Job Overview: A law firm seeks a Trial Associate Attorney to join their San Diego, CA team. The ideal candidate will manage discovery processes, draft legal documents, conduct legal research, make court appearances, and collaborate with senior attorneys while communicating effectively with clients and team members.

Duties:

  • Manage discovery, including propounding and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and analyzing complex documents.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings and complex motions.
  • Perform legal research to support case strategies.
  • Make court appearances ranging from status conferences to trials.
  • Participate in case strategy discussions and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and team members.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on cases.

Requirements:

  • Juris has a doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in California and/or Hawaii.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency with E-Discovery and law programs such as Sharefile, PACER, CaseAnywhere, Lexis, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, FileVine, and OneLegal.

  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Reliable and capable of multitasking.
  • Able to manage several time-critical projects under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
