Job Overview: A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a skilled Senior Attorney with expertise in civil litigation for both state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will possess excellent research, writing, and analytical skills and experience in deposition, case docket management, and courtroom appearances. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and third parties while consistently producing high-quality work products and meeting deadlines.

Duties:

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently and responsively.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work products.
  • Successfully meet deadlines and expectations, performing work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships within the firm and with external parties.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in physical and sedentary activities, including working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience with civil litigation in state and federal courts.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience conducting and defending depositions.
  • Proficiency in managing a case docket.
  • Demonstrated experience appearing in court.
  • Experience with multi-district litigation is a plus.
  • Trial experience is preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California or eligibility for admission by waiver.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional research and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in case management software and legal research tools.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
