Associate Attorney needed for San Diego office

A law firm in San Diego, CA is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience in civil and employment litigation, including personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills, capable of managing a caseload of 20-30 cases. Trial experience, would be considered favorably.

Duties:

• Handle civil and employment litigation cases, including personal injury cases
• Assist in other areas of law practice, as needed
• Draft demand letters, complaints, and discovery
• Take depositions
• Prepare and argue motions in court
• Conduct legal research
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Attend court hearings and trials as necessary

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in civil and employment litigation
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the California State Bar (active and in good standing)
• Strong research and writing skills
• Ability to manage a caseload of 20-30 cases
• Experience drafting demand letters, complaints, discovery
• Experience taking depositions
• Experience preparing and arguing motions
• Trial experience of any type would be considered favorably
