Senior Litigation Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney with native Japanese language abilities to provide comprehensive legal support in enforcement actions, investigations, and dispute resolution. The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of proven legal experience, with a strong background in enforcement, investigation, compliance, and dispute litigation. The role requires proficiency in English and Japanese, as well as the ability to travel to Japan for client meetings.

Duties:

• Provide comprehensive legal support in various litigation matters, including enforcement actions, investigations, and dispute resolution.
• Assist in developing and maintaining compliance programs, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
• Conduct thorough investigations into legal matters by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Represent clients in arbitration proceedings, preparing legal documents and providing strategic guidance.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations, conducting legal research to support case strategies.
• Effectively communicate with clients, providing legal advice and ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction.
• Travel to Japan as business needs arise for in-person meetings with clients.

Requirements:

• 6-10 years of proven legal experience representing public companies, fund sponsors, and financial services clients.
• Strong background in enforcement, investigation, compliance, and dispute litigation.
• Native Japanese language abilities (writing, reading, speaking).
• Admission to practice in the state of DC, or eligibility to become admitted quickly.

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Japanese for effective communication with clients and counterparts.
