Job Overview: A law firm in Washington, D.C., is seeking a dynamic Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-3 years of experience. The ideal candidate should possess outstanding academic credentials from a top-tier school, strong writing skills, and must be a current member of the DC bar or eligible for waive-in. Appellate litigation experience is required, with a preference for past appellate clerkship experience.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, and case strategy development.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates to analyze and develop case strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar or eligibility for waive-in.
  • 2-3 years of relevant litigation experience.
  • Exceptional academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Appellate litigation experience, with a preference for past appellate clerkship experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Current member of the District of Columbia Bar or eligible to waive in.
