A law firm is seeking a Labor Law Attorney for their New York City office. The Labor Law Attorney will play a pivotal role in handling a broad spectrum of labor-related matters, including NLRB proceedings, union elections, representation hearings, arbitrations, grievances, positive employee relations, and collective bargaining negotiations. Exceptional writing, oral advocacy skills, and a strong academic background are essential. The ideal candidate must possess an active law license in the applicable jurisdiction or eligibility for admission to the applicable Bar.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in NLRB proceedings, union elections, and representation hearings.
  • Manage arbitrations and grievances arising from labor disputes.
  • Provide strategic counsel on positive employee relations and collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on labor law issues.
  • Draft various legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and administrative bodies.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of traditional labor law experience, preferably on the management side or with experience at the NLRB.
  • Proficiency in handling NLRB proceedings, union elections, representation hearings, arbitrations, grievances, positive employee relations, and collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and oral advocacy.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Active law license in the applicable jurisdiction, or eligibility for admission to the applicable Bar.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the applicable Bar or eligibility for admission.
