Litigation Of Counsel

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Litigation Of Counsel with extensive experience in litigation, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm, to join their team in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will primarily communicate with clients, supervise associates, work with experts, assist with fact development and depositions, review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda, and help develop case strategy.

Duties:

• Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
• Supervise associates and guide as necessary.
• Work with experts to gather necessary information and testimony.
• Assist in fact development and participate in depositions.
• Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
• Contribute to the development of case strategy.
• Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently and responsively.
• Provide timely, accurate, and quality work products.
• Meet deadlines and perform work duties as required.
• Foster positive work relationships within the firm and with clients.
• Comply with all firm policies and practices.
• Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, including working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
• Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• J.D. degree.
• 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm.
• Bar admission.
• Direct and applicable experience in an AmLaw 100 law firm.
• Experience with product liability and/or complex commercial litigation.
• A science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology) is required.
• Superior research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Strong project management skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong academic background from a nationally recognized school.
