Litigation Attorney

A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of experience. The candidate will assist with general litigation cases, including defense of personal injury, lease disputes, and general contractual claims. They will handle their own caseload and be responsible for all aspects of defending lawsuits, including written discovery, depositions, mediations, motions, and trial. Strong writing and researching skills are essential for this role.

Duties:

• Assist with general litigation cases, including defense of personal injury, lease disputes, and general contractual claims.
• Handle their own caseload and manage all aspects of defending lawsuits.
• Conduct written discovery, including drafting interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and requests for admissions.
• Conduct depositions of witnesses, including fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
• Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Draft and argue motions in court, including motions for summary judgment and other dispositive motions.
• Prepare for and represent clients at trial.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda and briefs.
• Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and legal developments.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Litigation Attorney.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in California.
• Strong writing and researching skills.
• Experience in defending personal injury, lease disputes, and contractual claims preferred.
• Ability to manage a caseload and handle all aspects of litigation independently.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Active license to practice law in California.
